A private tour through wild beauty, timeless villages and unforgettable moments
At the helm of Eoliana, we embrace a slower, more graceful pace—perfect for exploring the closer islands with elegance and calm. But for destinations like Stromboli, whose distance and open-sea conditions require a faster boat, Eoliana steps aside with respect.
Instead, we’ve handpicked a small circle of trusted collaborators, each with their own vessel and style. They are not part of Eoliana, but they are local skippers who love this sea, and we work with them to offer you a journey that reflects our same values: authenticity, beauty, and quiet wonder.

Itinerary
Departure is typically in the morning, from Lipari, Vulcano, or Salina. The bow turns east, toward Panarea, a small gem of volcanic origin that seems to float, suspended between light and sea.The crossing is scenic: a procession of islets, each with its own voice and story--Dattilo, Lisca Bianca, Lisca Nera, Bottaro, and the stunning Basiluzzo. Together, they form a natural amphitheatre around Panarea, remnants of a vast underwater volcano that once defined the region.
At Dattilo, a sheer rock wall rises dramatically from the water.
At Bottaro, you can spot underwater gas bubbles—tiny geysers that still pulse with volcanic energy beneath the surface.
Cala Junco, nestled in a crescent of lava stone, offers one of the most iconic swimming spots in the Aeolian Islands.
And then there’s Basiluzzo—a wild and uninhabited islet, where perfect basalt columns line the cliffs like a cathedral of stone, their geometry sharpened by wind and time.
You’ll stop for a swim in these crystal-clear waters, framed by volcanic textures and endless sky.
If you wish, we can also stop on the island of Panarea for a gentle stroll through the village: cobbled alleys, whitewashed houses, bougainvillea, and the option to enjoy a granita, browse a boutique, or simply sit and take in the view.
From here, we continue toward the mighty silhouette of Stromboli.
It rises straight from the sea—smoking, black, and alive. This is one of the world’s most active volcanoes, erupting every 20–30 minutes in small, rhythmic explosions that light up the horizon. The island itself is all volcano: stark and magnetic, mysterious and unforgettable.
On arrival, you may choose to go ashore to explore the village. Walk past white houses framed by lava stone, through narrow lanes, to the black sand beach or the panoramic terraces with views of the crater.
Once back on board, we navigate toward the island’s wild north-western face—home to the Sciara del Fuoco, the “stream of fire,” a natural channel of lava and ash where the eruptions tumble down toward the sea.
As the sun begins to set, the boat stops in open water. The engines fall silent. And then--
a flash of red, a low rumble, a burst of light against the darkening sky.
Some explosions are soft, others more dramatic. And on rare nights, if you're lucky, you might see a slow ribbon of lava sliding down the mountain’s flank to meet the sea.
It is an ancient, humbling experience. One that leaves the heart full and the words behind.
You’ll then begin a quiet return voyage, eyes still lifted to the volcano, carrying with you the memory of fire and salt.
